Christmas Tag Tin

By now, those of us who celebrate the wonderful season of Christmas are knee deep in wrapping paper and constricted with wayward pieces of tape!! I was determined to get some of my mess under control, so I decorated a little bandaid tin with left over scraps of Christmas paper, a cute Santa Claus rubon and some ribbon for a very festive way to contain my gift tags. Now I just have to endeavour not to lose the tin amongst all the paper!

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Another Wreath

Feel free to use this coloured image on any of your last minute cards or Christmas projects... perhaps you could make some personalised gift tags or table placecards before the big day arrives. Make several and put them in a little box to use as a last minute gift for those people who enjoy handmade items.

Red Berry Wreath

This wreath looks really pretty printed out fairly small and mounted on nesting circles of cardstock in complimentary colours. It's not strictly a Christmas design, especially if you change the colours of the berries to blue or purple or even white. Have a play with the design and see what you come up with.

Holly Jolly Snowmen

Here is another snowman design. I've coloured him in two different styles... the first is the traditional snow white of a beautiful winter Christmas, and the second is a heavy duty hessian sackman from a fierce Aussie summer Christmas!

Christmas Joy Mini Album

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm positively breathing Christmas in the air!! This is easily my most favourite holiday of the year, and I think it's because of all the excitement, expectation and hope that fills people. Of course, the food isn't bad either! I've had this album ready for quite some time, but decided to wait until Christmas was a little closer to post it. It's made in the same style as the mini brad album I showed you in an earlier tutorial. Why not whip up a couple as a gift for someone special?

Twelfth Day of Christmas

Here's our little drummer to finish the Twelve Days of Christmas series. I hope you've all enjoyed the images as much as I have enjoyed creating them, and I hope you find some inspiration for your cards and Christmas projects.

On a personal note, we depart for the U.S. this morning, for six glorious weeks away from our regular routine! I have prepared a few automatic blog posts to keep you busy throughout December, but then I'm off air until the end of January.
I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year filled with crafting, good friends and lots of laughter.
Cheers,
Beccy

Eleventh Day of Christmas

I feel quite sad to be coming to the end of this series - I've really enjoyed waiting to see who is coming out of my pencil each day, and then deciding on what colour their wardrobe will be! Alas, all good things must come to an end, and so, here's our piper to begin the final adieu...

Tenth Day of Christmas

This leaping Lord, who I have nicknamed Leaping Leopold, was a hoot to colour! I really enjoyed everything about this chappy, from his flowing, fur lined cape to his fantastic soft leather boots. Although I still love the goose from Day 6, I think she might have been replaced in my favour by this joyous fellow.

Ninth Day of Christmas

Day nine stars the divine Mrs. Claus busting a few moves! After all those milk maids I decided that having the literal amount of characters in the image really makes it impractical to colour and use on a card. Reducing the size so it will fit on a card front means that you lose a lot of the detail, not to mention that it's practically impossible to get your colours in such tiny little spaces.

The Black Swan

Hi All.
Living in Australia I take it for granted that everyone knows about the existence of black swans, which are native to this country. I believe there are also populations in New Zealand and some parts of Europe, although I'm not 100% certain of that. Anyway, I noticed that a few of you were surprised by my choice of colour and I just wanted to show you that where the idea came from.

Eighth Day of Christmas

These ladies were very enjoyable to work with. To me, it looks like they are all having a drink together at the office Christmas party! You could make them look more seasonal by using traditional Christmas colours for the dresses and caps, but I quite liked the multi-colours. Oh, and you can also decide what beverage is going in those cups they are swinging around... I opted for the safe path and gave them all a nice glass of fresh milk!

Seventh Day of Christmas

I'm happy with the way this Australian Black Swan turned out, but I have to admit that it was really, really difficult to colour. If you are going to have a go at it, I would suggest printing it at a very generous size so you can get into all the fiddly areas around the vine and white swans.

Sixth Day of Christmas

This is it! This is my favourite of all the designs I've done so far. I love the smug look on her face as she sits in her beautifully decorated nest wearing a nice new red scarf. I don't know how she came to have these items, but by her expression I would bet she intends to keep them!

Thank You

I would like to say a quick thank you to everyone who leaves comments here on my blog. I really enjoy reading through them and get such a chuckle out of some of the things that are written. I'm also touched by how generous you all are with your compliments... it's very much appreciated.
I'm really pleased that you are enjoying the drawings I post and can find something useful and fun to do with them. You are all most sincerely welcome.
Cheers,
Beccy

Fifth Day of Christmas

I didn't realise how many birds there are in the Twelve Days of Christmas until I came to design day five and realised there were no feathers to draw. This little girl was inspired by my beautiful daughter Madison.

Third Day of Christmas

My three French hens. I had quite a dilemna trying to decide which colours to choose for these little ladies, but decided on a scheme that wasn't quite traditional yet not quite modern either. My kids had a bit of a play and came up with some wonderful alternatives that will look fantastic on any number of occasional cards. Have a go at making one of these Continental Cluckers into a little ornament for your tree or as a surprise gift inside a card.

I think you could easily use this image for other cards and projects by removing the holly berries and leaves at the bottom of the picture. Aside from Christmas cards, they would also be cute for Anniversaries or Engagements. Feel free to use this coloured image or the line drawing in the next post.

First Day of Christmas

I've been having fun creating these images, although some of them might be just a little more interpretive than I had first imagined! I didn't give much thought to fitting ten leaping lords in a single design, or how much room eight milk maids take up when joined by their cows, buckets and stools. Anyway, I hope you enjoy all the images and find some way to use them in your Christmas creations. Have fun!

The Twelve Days of Christmas

I am putting the final touches on a series of Christmas drawings based on the carol "The Twelve Days of Christmas". Providing all goes to plan - which very rarely happens - I will post one each day for you to use on your Christmas cards and projects. I'm also hoping to provide you with the images in colour, but can't make any promises about that.
We are heading off to the U.S. again on the 8th of December for six fabulous weeks! We'll begin in L.A. and do a tour right across the country, Christmasing in beautiful Savannah, then ending up in Florida for a few days before turning around and coming all the way back again. I'm trying to organise a few posts to keep you busy while I'm away, and I'll be taking my sketch book for when inspiration hits!

Simple Christmas Cards

I just recently purchased these lovely die cuts made by DoCrafts. They have really soft colours, in a variety of designs, with a hint of red foil here and there. I layered them on piece of card that I had cut with one of my Spellbinders dies, and then adhered that to a piece of card that I had embossed through the Cuttlebug. A nice piece of ribbon finished the card perfectly.

More Bauble Cards

I used traditional Christmas colours for these two cards and added some ribbon, shiny gold cardboard and embossed backgrounds for a simple, eye catching design.

Bauble Cards

I finally got around to making some simple cards with the bauble images from my previous posts. These blue and black ones are my favourite and really came up beautifully with the addition of some glitter, ribbon and an embossed background.

Christmas Baubles

I haven't had the chance to make these baubles into cards yet, but they are definitely on my list. I coloured them with copic markers and then added either silver or gold metallic ink to a few of the smaller areas for a bit of shine and sparkle. Glitter would also look good or some strategically placed rhinestones.
Feel free to use these pre-coloured images, but I would suggest that you go over the silver or gold parts with your own metallic pen to regain the shine that gets lost with the scanning and printing. Look to my previous post for the blank line drawing if you wish to colour your own.

Christmas Time

To get myself into the spirit of the season I decided to add some colour to a design I drew of Mrs. Claus on her way out to Santa's workshop with a little fellow who was sadly left behind... or perhaps he's a naughty little bear who keeps jumping out of the sack and making his way back to Mrs. Claus's kitchen!

Feel free to use this coloured version in your projects or download the line drawing from the next post.
